Primary and Secondary Rules Of Ravenblack Roleplay
---Simplified Version---
(For Full Version see below)
Primary Rules Primary rules meaning the hard lines that cannot be broken in any way. If any of the Primary rules are broken the members involved in the incident will receive an automatic strike.
1)No OOC(Out of Character, Real Life) insults A simple rule, but be careful to remember it. Break it twice and you are banned. It is possible to insult a staff member; they are members as well and should be treated with respect as well. For further details on this rule please see the post about Primary Rules.
2)Explicit Content References to sex and violence should be subtle and without great detail. Implied activities are fine providing it remains implied. Drug use and excessive alcoholism is not allowed and will result in a thread being moved for review by RBRP staff. Going into gory, graphic, and intimate detail of each blow-by-blow action will result in a thread being moved for review by RBRP staff. Decisions on whether or not a thread breaks PG-13 rating is ultimately up to the RBRP staff, if you ever have any doubts then please ask a staff and they’ll be more than glad to help you. Breaking this rule will result in an automatic strike on your record.
Arguing with the staff about their decision will result in a warning, continuing such arguments will result in another strike. Use your head while posting, if it’s not stated in the full version then ask a staff member or decide on your own if you would see it in a PG-13 movie.
3)No IC/OOC Crossing This means no taking things and being offended about what a character has done and try to discredit the player or taking what a player does and try to discredit the character. If you have a problem with another member inform one of the staff and they’ll be more than happy to help you.
4)Limit Power-Playing If you are a weakling In Game you should not be playing a God in role-play. If you want to be a strong vampire in role-play then remember to play DA (Dark Alleyway) and grow stronger there first. To help preventing power-play the power System was created, see this Secondary Rules for an in depth explanation of that rule. If you have any problems with understanding the game go here or if you have problems understanding how to role play go here; you may also contact a staff member for help.
Secondary Rules Secondary rules are not as strict as the Primary Rules but they’re still important rules that should not be broken. Each time you break a secondary rule you receive half a strike; you only have three strikes until you are banned so your best option is to check with a staff member if you think you are breaking a rule.
01)Character Minimum RBRP has what is called a 1000 character minimum, This means anything under 1000 letter, numbers, punctuation can not be submitted for a post. Mind you this is not 1000 words, but rather characters. It is not as scary as it sounds. This Character minimum is here to help ensure a quality role-play. One-lined posts are not tolerated and cheating character minimum is not tolerated.
The Character minimum for Born into Darkness and The Silent Gateway is set at 500, so those new to role-play can ease into the 1000 character minimum.
You will not be able to post unless you have used the minimum amount of characters.
02)Post in Correct Areas In Character posts should go in the correct in character section; In Game questions should go in the Game OOC board; Off Topic Questions should go in the Off Topic section, etc. This rule is seldom dealt with and a warning is rarely given for such an offense, but that doesn’t mean the staff cannot give a warning or even delete the post/thread all together, if one of the staff feels it’s necessary.
03)Limit Signature sizes to a max of 300 pixels high and 600 pixels wide Remember, your signature is not a photo gallery or a lyrics board; it is merely a way for people to recognize your posts. Each line of text or empty space equals 10 pixels of height. If you increase the size of the text it also increases the size of your signature as a whole.
Ex. If you increased your text to size 2 your text is now 20 pixels high. Text can only be increased to a size of 10; it’ll be counted as 100 pixels high.
04)Large Avatars, Colored Names, Personal Title, and Boards It is possible for nonstaff members to have their own Large Avatars, Colored Names, and Personal Titles. This can be done by donating $5 for each color, title, and avy, and 30 for boards. All privileges subject to Administrator approval. No refunds will be given. Privileges can be taken away by Admins for any conduct unbecoming of a member of this site, to be determined by the site Administrator.
05)Display In Game Name Put your In Game Name (IGN) in your signature or Personal Text, your IGN should not be placed inside of your signature image, if this is done it will not be counted as present and you will be warned, if you wish to post in the City, The Lounge, The Outskirts, Stranger Things Can Happen, The Silent Gateway OR if you wish to sire somebody in the Born Into Darkness board. This is so that you can prove your In Game power for those wishing to see who you are; this also allows those you are role-playing with to fight you, if they need to. While you are a human your IGN is (none).
06)Display In Game powers and blood ranks To help members determine the status of another character in role play the site has a simple ranking system. Members are encouraged to display the number of powers they have earned IG as well as their current blood rank. Only characters with an IGN should have powers and blood ranks. Also human characters have no powers or blood rank and must display this as N/A until they have a IG account.
07)1 In Game Name per member account You should not have two main accounts sharing your IGN. You are allowed to have Non-playable characters (NPC), however they are not allowed to be sired and a NPC is only to be played in your main account. Therefore you cannot separate accounts for an NPC unless you have an intention to make a separate IGN for them and make that NPC an entirely separate character.
08)No Spamming Do not PM a link to other forums/websites repeatedly to members who have no expressed a desire to know the link or post a link more than once. The staff will allow 1 link per website in the Off Topic Board, but if we see any repeated links we will delete your posts and give out a warning for each link that was Posted/PMed after the original post. You cannot put your posted link in your signature or personal text as with each post a member makes it is in fact broadcasting that link; therefore any links that lead to other forums/websites within their profiles is also breaking this secondary rule.
09)Do Not Spam your Biter-link You should not post your biter-link in threads on this site, or allow those with your biter-link to give it out through PMs/Instant Messenger to people whom you haven’t sired.
Re: Primary and Secondary Rules « Reply #1 on Feb 10, 2008, 10:49pm »
10)Born Into Darkness Rules
i)You can only sire somebody in the Born Into Darkness Board if you have 7 powers or more In Game powers at any level, each level of each power counts as one of the 7 powers needed to sire someone, Neutrality and Battlecloak are powers that do not count as powers that can be used as 1 of those 7 powers. On top of that you must also have at least 500 BP, be active on RBRP, and your name must also be on the Siring List before you’re able to sire anyone.
ii) Unless the player asks OOC and it is agreed upon there will be no force siring. If you wish to sire somebody, that person has to agree first, either IC or OOC. The player has the choice of sires if there is more than 1 eligible vampire in the thread. The player has the choice to close the thread, but if the human is inactive for over 3 weeks without any OOC communication the vampire has the choice to close the thread.
iii) No giving out biter-links to those you have not sired in role-play. Do not PM your biter-link to people unless they have selected you as their sire. Also, do not post your biter-link in public; your signature, personal text, profile, or character sheet.
1v) The limit of siring thread an eligible sire can participate in is three threads. At the end of the thread the sire or human may put ‘closed’ when they thread is done.
v)After someone receives a strike and have gone through their temporary ban they receive a certain amount of time where they are not allowed to sire, while a member is going through their allotted time of being unable to sire a note will be put by their name on the siring list that states when they are able to sire once more.
11)Born Into Darkness Rules for New Players Do not create more than one siring thread without closing your previous thread. To close previous thread modify the original post and change the title to closed. If you’d like to post in other threads while waiting to be sired you may got to The Silent Gateway Board. If you choose to post in this board you must have a siring thread open and the link must be in your signature until you are sired; you must also have IGN:N/A, Powers: N/A, Blood rank: N/A.
12)Stranger Thing Can Happen Rules This board is designed for players to pull their characters form their main stories and use them in a different setting, an alternate universe. Although this board is a part from the other boards in RBRP you are still required to have an IGN displayed and humans are not allowed to RP in this board until they are sired; all the rules that apply to the other IC boards apply here as well.
13)The Silent Gateway The Silent Gateway board if for humans and vampire interaction. This is a board that allows un-sired characters to RP if a siring thread is not going fast enough, or you wish to develop your character further while they’re still a human. This board may also be used to role-play your character’s human past, if you do not want to create a character journal, so long as the proper indications are included. To use this board you must have a link to your siring thread in your signature. Posts made in this board must be a minimum of 500 characters long; anything found under that minimum will be warned.

Primary and Secondary Rules Of Ravenblack Roleplay
---Full Version---
By Site Administrator, Brittany AKA Shini Kan
The Purpose of This Post This post is to be a reference when someone crosses the line. The idea behind this post is to be a reference when somebody has been doing something wrong, they can include a quote from this most, making what they say all official-like.
Disrespecting a Staff Member Every one of the Staff Members wore voluntarily; they take time out of their schedule and listen to members in regards to rules and other problems with dealing RBRP. They all wrack their brain to come up with ways to make RBRP fun IC and OOC and strive to make sure everyone feels like they’re treated fairly inn regards to punishment. To disrespect one of these writers is uncalled for, rude, and won’t be tolerated any longer.
The Role of Moderators Moderators on this forum spot problems and notify a rule breaker that they are breaking a rule. Their job is to give out warnings and spot potential problems before they escalate out of control at a later date. If a member has a problem and one of the admins is not online a moderator is more than capable of helping you with your problem. Moderators cannot give out automatic strikes without the admin’s permission, ban people, or warn for any of the Primary Rules; they can report a member breaking a Primary Rule.
The Role of Admin When you feel that a moderator won’t be able to help you with your problem feel free to PM one of the Admins and ask for help. Do not do this because a member of the staff is enforcing the rules of the site; that’s their job. You may repost a staff member if you feel they are allowing personal opinions to cloud their judgment. Staff members are encouraged to work as a team about everything but there are some powers that are only appropriate for an admin to do. An admin is the only person on the staff who can give out automatic strikes, and make the final decision about hiring new Moderator’s and banning members.
The Difference between Primary and Secondary Rules All rules are permanent and set in stone, regardless of whether they are a primary or secondary rule. Primary rules are very simple, and easy to find since they are the first three rules listed. These rules are not flexible, there are no exceptions, staff member will not hear any excuses, and all primary rules are worth an automatic strike on your record if you break one.
Secondary rules are dealt with a little bit more flexibility, breaking a secondary rule is worth half a strike. However, if you break a secondary rule enough times you will be banned; after three strikes you will be banned, so if you break a secondary rule six times you will be banned. Any of the mods have the power to give out a warning on any of the secondary rules.
If you ever feel that a warning was given to you unfairly you’re more than welcome to contact one of the admins or the staff member that gave you the warning. Civil Behavior is required if you choose to PM a staff member or admin about your warning/strike. Out of character insults is one of he primary rules and you will be given a strike for such an offense; it’s not worth getting upset and insulting a staff member because you don’t agree with a warning/strike you have received.
The first time someone breaks a rule, primary or secondary, I’ll trust you to fix the rule you’ve broken by yourself; a week will be allotted to you to fix said problem. If you ignore an admin or staff member’s advice, and after your allotted week is up, then I might start to remove certain posts or change the offending matter manually. If you continue to defy an admin or a staff member and are just doing it to prove a point or to annoy the staff, I will ban you.
If you ever notice someone breaking a primary or secondary rule please don’t PM someone personally, there’s a staff here for a reason and a heads up to them is the best you can do to help.
Banning Getting banned from this site is a very simple process. You get 3 strikes total; 3 strikes and you’re out. Breaking a primary rule results in an automatic strike and breaking a secondary rule results in a warning; two warnings make up one strike.
when someone receives their first strike, you're temporary banned for 2 days and can't participate in a new siring for a month, second strike you're banned for 5 days and no siring for two months, 3rd strike, depending on the severity of the strike, you will either have a temp ban for a month or a permanent ban and may not sire until the staff says you may. When you get your final strike you will be banned, no ifs, ands or buts.
After someone receives a strike and have gone through their temporary ban they receive a certain amount of time where they are not allowed to sire, while a member is going through their allotted time of being unable to sire a note will be put by their name on the siring list that states when they are able to sire once more.
However, no one is perfect and people are capable of making mistakes, therefore as a reprieve for good behavior you will earn an anti-strike for each category as follows:
1st Strike after 3 months of no bad behavior. 2nd Strike after 6 months of no bad behavior. 3rd Strike after 1 year of no bad behavior.
Example: If you have 2 strikes and don’t break any of the rules for 3 months you’re down to 1 strike. If you have earned another strike form that point on it will take you 6 months to lose another one.
After you’ve had three anti-strike you cannot have any more, anti-strike are a privilege and should not be abused. Anti-strikes are only given out when the admin truly believe the player has learned their lesson.
Re: Primary and Secondary Rules « Reply #3 on Feb 10, 2008, 10:56pm »
Primary Rules There are no ifs, ands, or buts about these rules; break them and you’ll be given a strike. Punishments for breaking a Primary Rule will be conducted by either the Admin or the Co-Admin.
01)No Deliberate OOC Insulting
You should never purposefully insult a real life person on this forum or anywhere else because of something pertaining to DA. If you’ve been insulted in PM or in IM a screenshot must be given to one of the staff along with your complaint. There is a difference between deliberate and accidental insults, as well as insults that are more criticism, or playful jokes. Examples follow;
Deliberate Insult “You are a stupid, brainless, little ugly prick who should go kill yourself.” This is unacceptable, depending on the severity of the insult you may just get a strike or you may be banned immediately. If you are given a strike and repeat the action once more you’ll be banned. Remember that once you are banned you cannot come back.
Accidental Insult “Don’t be stupid, of course I’ll roleplay with you.” OR “You’re a cool guy.” (When they are actually a girl.) These types of insults are seldom actually purposeful, and as such, will usually be ignored.
Constructive Criticism “You’re roleplay is good, but you need to work on your power-playing.” OR “Do you really think that your character should be as powerful as they are? I mean, they only have 200 blood! Jeez!” This kind of criticism might be taken to heart as an insult, but it’s not intended that way. I do like people to point out the mistakes of others in a polite constructive way, otherwise we never learn, and we never know what we are doing wrong if it’s not brought t our attention.
Playful Joke It’s difficult to give a playful joke compared to an actual insult. The staff can tell when somebody is joking and when they are just being an ass. Remember, some jokes that you find funny might be hurtful to another person. Admins will use their judgment to deal with this kind of insult; very rarely will a warning be given for this.
02)Explicit content
This site is hosted by Suddenlaunch, therefore there are certain basic rules we have to enforce to keep the site form being shut down. The most important rule is that the site must maintain a PG-13 status.
Suddenlaunch imposes the following restrictions on all sites in regards to PG-13. User’s website may not contain content promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, “spam,” fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity.
Hopefully the following clarifies and defines what level of roleplay is acceptable under the PG-13 restriction.
The Motion Picture Association defined PG-13 limits as follows (bold text highlights the main areas of concern when it comes to roleplay). A PG-13 film is one which, in the view of the rating board, leaps beyond the boundaries of the of the3 PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, or other contents, but does not quite fit within the restricted R category. If nudity is sexually oriented, the film will generally not be found in the PG-13 category. If violence is too rough or persistent, the film goes into the R (restricted) rating. A film’s single use of one of the harsher sexually derived words, though only as an expletive, shall initially require the Rating Board to issue that film at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive must lead the Rating Board to issue a film an R rating, as must even one of these words used in a sexual context. These films can be rated less severely, however, if by a special vote, the Rating Board feels that a lesser rating would more responsibly reflect the opinion of American parents
How is a PG-13 thread dealt with?
As stated by the Motion Picture Association, “These films can be rated less severely, however, if by a special vote, the Rating Board feels that a lesser rating would more responsibly reflect the opinion of American parents.”
On RBRP our staff is the rating board, therefore, we have the authority to decide whether the thread is to be edited to meet PG-13 with a warning given, or remove the thread from public view and either give a warning or an automatic strike based on the severity of the content.
The decision of how severe the content of the thread is ultimately up to the staff, as a whole to decide. If you ever think anything you wish to post has the potential to break PG-13 the best thing you could do is ask a staff member to read it over for you.
Please remember this is for our own protection and not an attempt to restrict your creativity. Should the parent of a minor make a complaint about the type of “action” their child has been indulging in it is the other players and staff that may find themselves in serious trouble with authorities.
Specific definitions of PG-13
Language: The use of strong language (eg ‘f**k’) must be limited to a single use; there shall also be no cursing in subject title’s of threads. Racist abuse is not allowed.
Nudity: Brief nudity is allowed, but anything sexually oriented must be brief and discreet. All signatures and avatars must include people with clothing on; bikinis and other types of scanty clothing is not allowed. If a picture is seen breaking said restriction it will be removed immediately and a punishment will be given accordingly. If you cannot find something appropriate to use we have an extensive amount of talented artist who are capable of helping you make a signature/avatar here.
Sex: Sexual activity as a whole on any level is unacceptable, use your best judgment and if you have any questions at all ask a staff member. There must be no reference to rape, pedophilia, and sex between underage partners or prostitution. Light kissing, cuddling, and affectionate touches are fine. Anything heavier, or actual sexual activity, may not be implied or described in any depth.
Violence: This is a Vampire Role-playing site, and as such most violence is dealt with a little bit more leniently than any other aspect of PG-13 would be. Violence must not dwell on detail. There should be no over emphasis of injuries or blood spatter. Sexual violence may not be implied and would result in immediate thread removal.
Imitable techniques: Dangerous techniques (e.g. combat, hanging, suicide, and self-harming) should not dwell on detail or appear pain or harm free. Easily accessible weapons should not be glamorized.
Horror: Sustained moderate threat and menace are permitted. Occasional gory moments only.
03)IC/OOC Crossing There will be no OOC/IC, or vice versa, crossing of any kind. Not everyone you roleplay with will do something you agree with OOC, or do something you don’t agree with IC. Accepting that and moving past it will save everyone a lot of grief.
OOC/IC Crossing
Crossing Example A character does something that hits a nerve and pisses you off, so you decide to IM/PM the player and start causing problems OOC. (This is unacceptable and you will be given a strike for such an offense.)
Not Crossing Example Someone’s character may do something that you do not like and you continue to roleplay with the person, using you vampire to play out his/her dislike for the action.
OOC/IC Crossing
Crossing Example You have a fight with another player OOC and decide to get revenge by attacking them IG or destroying something precious to their character in roleplay. (This is unacceptable and you will be given a strike for such an offense.)
Not Crossing Example You have a fight with another player OOC and continue to roleplay with them, being the bigger person and making sure the fight doesn’t affect your character.
Note: When dealing in other mediums, such as Yahoo, AIM, Yahoo group, or another forum it is recommended you inform everyone whether or not you’re IC or not and identify when you change.

04)Limit Power-playing Because Power-playing has many different forms, these are the basic and the most common forms of Power-playing.
I)Controlling another character without permission Unless a player has already moved their character you should only be writing your own part. Never describe another person’s actions unless you have permission and you are allowed to move another character. (This goes for their NPC/Minor characters as well.)
The description of another character’s thoughts, touching something that is physically on another character’s body, and removing some sort of limb falls under power-playing, as well. Reading minds does not fit under any power source or form of telepathy between vampires on Ravenblack Roleplay. The ability to hear their thoughts should only be allowed if you have the written consent of the character that is thinking or has internal voices. There is no leniency on this rule and any case of mind reading is in fact power-playing unless consent is given.
II)This is not a free-form roleplay site. This forum is based Entirely on a game; RavenBlack – The Dark Alleyway(DA). This site is based entirely on RavenBlack – The Dark Alleyway, and without this game, there would be no role-playing site. RavenBlack Roleplay should be used to bring your In Game Character to life in a setting you can role-play out, give a name a face and a personality.
Because the game has powers that means there are limitations on powers. If your character has no power and almost no blood points you shouldn’t be playing a super powerful character that can destroy the world. No matter what a character may be, keep in mind that the power you have in the game is the power you have in role-play.
III)You should take all battles to the game If someone is talking crap about your character IC and you and your character believe your character is better than his or her character you should take that into the actual game and role-play the outcome of the battle in the thread. But if your character can’t prove anything, and your character is nothing, your character will be treated as such in role-play. (Any mistreatment OOC bout said battle is considered Crossing and should reported to the staff with proof of said harassment.)
Don’t want to be knocked around? Then get stronger in the actual game and you won’t have to put up with their stuff for much longer, and then you can be the super-powered character you already dreamed about having.
If you RP your fight out and both parties power-play, there’s nothing any of the staff can do until one of the parties complains. After one of the staff receives this complaint the entire thread will be examined and all parties will receive a strike for power-playing if all parties are guilty.
IV)Other powers found in the game are acceptable You are free to use your imagination here, but keep in mind that those powers must be linked to the powers you have in game and if you are unsure ask someone on the staff to get more help when it comes to deciding if it’s linked properly to your in game powers.
Your powers should always reflect your in game character’s power. This means if you only have shadows 1 you can’t successfully hide from someone with shadows 2 or 3.
Just remember, if someone is playing a god just ignore them, report them to a staff member, or zero their character in the game. Hopefully they’ll get tired of it and begin to work on changing their character.
V)You are allowed to play something non-human when you start out In regards to role-playing a character who doesn’t exist in game, such as a werewolf, angel, demon or some other type of ethereal being, that’s fine. Just understand that in game you will be listed as a vampire no matter what, we can not change that fact.
But in role-play you can be whatever you wish to be, just don’t play someone super powerful if you can’t back it up in the game.
Note:If you choose to be something other than a full-blooded vampire don’t expect everyone’s complete respect IC. If someone insults you OOC about your character contact a staff member immediately, anything IC is completely kosher unless they are crossing from OOC.
VI)Participating in a thread with ongoing Power play There are some instances where characters can participate in a thread happily with excess power play, that’s great, but is halfway through the thread someone decides to complain; the complaint will be ignored.
Secondary Rules
Note: If you feel like you are unable to make a post that meets the 1,000 character minimum perhaps you could PM the member you are role-playing with and ask them to add onto their post.
02)Post in Correct Areas Non role-play posts should be made on the OOC areas, and IC posts should be made on the IC role-play areas. This is a simple secondary rule, but one which many newbies do not seem to understand.
Anyone is free to nicely inform someone they’re posting in the wrong section and if someone on the staff sees the thread it will be moved to the correct area. This rule is seldom dealt with and a warning is rarely given for such an offense; that doesn’t mean the staff cannot give a warning, if one of the staff feels it’s necessary to give out a warning then they can.
03)Limit Signatures to a max of 300 pixels High and 600 pixels wide You’ve made a fabulous character sheet, but you need a signature to put a face to that personality. You can either make your own signature or go to here and politely ask for help from one of our talented signature artists.
If you choose to make a signature please remember that your signature can’t be higher than 300 pixels and 600 pixels in length. Each line of text or empty space equals 10 pixels of height. If you increase the size of the text it also increases the size of your signature as a whole.
Ex. If you increased your text to assize 2 your text would be 20 pixels high. Text can only be increased to a size of 10, it’ll be counted as 100 pixels high.
This secondary rule was put in place to prevent interruption of role-play, slowing down load times, and preventing the annoyance large signatures can cause other people. Just keep in mind that the signature area isn’t a place for making full-sized pictures of your character.
If you break this secondary rule you will receive a PM about it and a warning will be put on your record. Every player is given a week to comply and fix their signature; refusal to comply will result in more action taken against you.
Ex. Your signature image may be removed from your signature for you. A staff member may resize your signature image or a replacement image may be replaced by your image

04)Large Avatars, Colored Names, Personal Titles, and Private Boards The donation button found on the top page, on the left under the staff named, is the donation for this forum (RBRP), which goes to Brittany. It is not the donation that goes to Dark Alleyway and will not give you any powers IG, it will only give you what is listed below. The creator of the game, Dark Alleyways, is RavenBlack and if you would like to donate him you’ll have to find the donation link to him in the actual game if you would like to donate to get powers.
What Do You Get For Donating?
If you donate $5 dollars you get to pick one of the following:
1) Customize your avatar size. The site’s default size is usually 100x100 but if you donate you may have an avatar put on the image list that can be a maximum size of 160 wide x 300 tall, if you look at my avatar you’ll see an example of what it could like. If you need help making one you can go to the Signature Requests for help making one.
2) You may get a custom title. This will replace your current position on the board, for example “Forum staff,” “Newbie,” or something else. This title may be anything you wish, so long as it doesn’t contain the words “moderator” or “admin.”
3) You may also choose to have your name colored, as long as the color has not been chosen by one of the other members that have chosen to donate as well. Look here to choose which color you would like to use.
But, because we're cool around here, we'll cut you a buy two get one free deal, so you can have all three powers for a grand total of $10 US.
How Can I Get My Own Private Board?
Donating for your own Private Board costs $30 dollars, mainly due to the amount of coding and time it takes to create it. These boards can be used for the creation of your own clans, somewhere for your bloodlines to RP privately, or somewhere for you to invite personal friends and have some old fashioned RP fun. These boards can be password protected or open to the public, you may also have up to THREE sub boards, and be the moderator to your own board, you may also choose two other people to be a moderator to this board with you; this allows you to delete, edit, and create any posts you like. These boards are not exempt from RBRP rules and you can, and will, be warned/striked for rule breaking material found there by an admin.
If you choose to donate for your own Private Board you will also get a custom title, custom color, and custom avatar.
Inactivity of a Private Board
If your board is unused for 30 days or more your board will be moved into storage to clear unused parts of this site from sight. If at a later date you would like to have the board moved back into public view you must send a request to one of the admin and you will be given a 14-day probation to produce an active board to be allowed to keep it in public view. If, during your 14-day probation, your board goes into inactivity once more you will be charged 5 dollars to have it taken back out from storage and given another 14-day probation. This is done to make sure someone won’t continue letting their board go into inactivity several times.
You will not lose your custom color, custom title, or large Avatar if your board goes inactive.
Is There Another Way To Earn a Private Board?
Yes, if you would like to have a clan or bloodline board and can produce 15 different IPS from 15 different members already signed up at RBRP then you may have your own PB.
If the board goes inactive you will lose your custom color, custom title, and custom avatar if you did not already donate for them as well as having to go through the steps listed above if you wish to have the board back.
As with buying In Game powers there are no refunds and the admin have the right to refuse to accept donations from anyone, so please consider your options carefully before donating.
Note: People with already existing boards, large avatars, or custom title given out by previous admins do not owe me anything; however the new rules for boards do apply.
DISCLAIMER: All privileges subject to Administrator approval. No refunds will be given. Privileges can be taken away by Admins for any conduct unbecoming of a member of this site, to be determined by the site Administrator. You are paying for a privilege, not a right, service or product of any kind, and therefore all privileges can be taken away temporarily or permanently at Admin discretion. All prices listed before are to be considered in US (United States) Dollars.
05)Display In Game Name If you wish to post in The City, The Lounge, The Outskirts or if you wish to sire someone in the Born into Darkness board you must put your In Game Name (IGN) in your signature or personal text. Your IGN should not be placed inside of your signature image, doing this creates problems for the staff if the text is unreadable and the player will be warned if this happens. This secondary rule is in place so that you can prove your In Game power for those wishing to see who you are; this also allows those who you are role-playing with to find you and fight you, if they need to.
While you are human your IGN is (none); remember to display your EXACT In Game Name once you’re a vampire. This includes the CoRrEcT cAsInG of your In Game Name, if the staff find any mistakes in the spelling of a players IGN, or the character has died completely in game, the player will be given a week to correct their IGN before a warning is given a second time and they’ll be given another week.
06)Display In Game Statistics
I)In game details should be displayed in the provided fields in a members Mini profile.
II)If you need help calculating your In game powers, please contact one of the staff members; they will be more than happy to help you figure out what your power rank is. If you are a human your power rank and blood ranks is 0 or N/A and if you’re just turned your powers and blood rank will starts at 0.
For powers you get 1 point for every 1 power you have, not counting Neutrality nor BattleCloak as a power. You can earn a maximum 3 points for every power, 1 point for each of the levels available per power listed below.
Remember to place the correct blood rank in the provided placed in you mini profile
0 BPs: Fresh Corpse 1 BPs: Mosquito 5 BPs: Leech 10 BPs: Bloodsucker 20 BPs: Creature of the Night 50 BPs: Demon of Starlight 100 BPs: Aspirant Elder 500 BPs: Local Legend 1000 BPs: Elder 2500 BPs: Ancient 5000 BPs: Legendary 10,000 BPs: Supreme Vampire 17,000 BPs: Ruler of the Night 25,000 BPs: Blood Royal 40,000 BPs: Blood Daemon 100,000 BPs: Blood Deity
III) If you believe that you’re stronger than someone else you are free to take your fight into the game itself, this is encouraged, to prove you are indeed better. It should be noted that the In game power system does not factor in warrior status, bloodline, or clan. These are things you will have to deal with it they wish to take it into the game.
For role play if a member or members decided not to take it IG then OOC confirmation needs to be given over who wins and what can be done to the characters. If a fight takes place and no confirmation was given this can be considered power play.
IV)If you do not like this rule you are free to role-play anywhere else. This is not a free form role-playing site and no one is forced to role-play. Please understand that if you cause problems here actions will be taken.

07)1 In Game Name Per Account You should never have two main characters with the same In Game Name. It is understandable that sometimes people are ‘connected’ or ‘apart’ of another character’s very being. In which case they become Non-Playable Characters and are only to be written by way of your main account.
Non-Playable Characters are indeed allowed, but the are not to sire or be sired in the Born into Darkness board and fighting with an NPC must have OOC permission from who ever is involved within the fight. A NPC can only be as powerful as predefined. No NPC can be considered fully powered unless it has been decided before hand.
08)No Spamming You are allowed to post links to other sites as lone as they’re not related to any adult related forums or sites. The staff will allow 1 posted link per website in the Off Topic Board, but if we see any repeated links we will delete your posts and give out a warning for each link that was posted/PMed after the original post. Do not send your link through Private Messenger (PM) as this is another form of spamming, you are allowed to give your link to one of your friends, but do not send it to people whom you do not know.
You cannot put your posted link in your signature or personal text as with each post a member makes it is in fact broadcasting that link; therefore any links that lead to other forums/websites within their profile is also breaking this Secondary Rule. If a staff member tells you to remove a link and you fail to do so within the allotted week, the staff will remove it manually and you will receive a strike.
It also helps if your site is somehow related to the game or to vampire sin general.
09)Do Not Spam Your Biter-Link You should never post your biter-link in your signature area, post it in a thread on this site, or allow those with your biter-link to give it out through PM/ Instant Messengers to people whom you haven’t sired.
10)Born Into Darkness Rules
i)The Born into Darkness board is a section for humans who wish to be sired. A vampire can only sire somebody if the human allows it and the vampire has the 7 In Game powers at any level required, each level of each power counts as one of the 7 powers needed to sire someone; exceeding this requirement is strongly encouraged. Neutrality and BattleCloak don’t count towards the powers needed to sire. A second requirement is that a vampire must have at least 500 bloodpoints before they are able to sire. Once you have the required powers needed to be able to sire you must have your name on the Siring List before you can legally sire a human. A vampire may only be sire if they are actively involved in RP on this site. The new players came to this site and it’s not fair if a vampire comes to this site, sires someone, and leaves them to RP here without help. These requirements are set to prevent newbies from siring newbies and so new members can find sires who know what they’re doing. All vampires should respect a human’s decision when it comes down to who and what they want for a sire.
This however doesn’t mean you can’t give your biter-link to those people through your own webpage or other forums (if they allow it). We can only prevent the siring of those newbies on RBRP.
ii)No forced siring unless it is agreed upon by the ‘human’ and ‘vampire.’ The ‘human’ has the choice to pick who they want for a sire. You are not allowed to just walk up to them and bite them, making them your childe. This is not a first come, first serve forum. If you wish to sire somebody that person has to agree first, either IC or OOC. If there is more than one ‘vampire’ in the thread the ‘human’ has the choice of sires, or they can choose to close the thread.
iii)Do not post your biter-link in public(on our site); your signature, personal text, profile, or character sheet. Do not PM your biter-link to anyone you have not sired in role-play. This prevents new members becoming ‘vampires’ without needing to find a sire.
iv)To prevent eligible sires from entering a ridiculous amount of siring threads and only completing one or two threads there is a limit of three siring threads a ‘vampire’ can participate in. At the end of the thread the sire of ‘human’ may put ‘closed’ when the thread is done. If the ‘human’ is inactive for over 3 weeks without any OOC communication the ‘vampire’ has the choice to close the thread or leave it open. If the ‘vampire’ leaves that thread open they can only participate in one other thread.
v)After someone receives a strike and have gone through their temporary ban they receive a certain amount of time where they are not allowed to sire, while a member is going through their allotted time of being unable to sire a note will be put by their name on the siring list that states when they are able to sire once more.
11)Born into Darkness Rules for New Players Do not create more than one siring thread without closing your previous thread. To close previous threads open your thread, click modify on your first post and change the title to closed.
If someone hasn’t posted in your thread you are free to delete that post and start a new one, if someone has posted in your thread please don’t delete all of your posts, all you need to do is ‘close’ the thread.
Keep in mind that if you haven’t been sired yet you can make a post in the Game OOC section and get any tips from Role-play help board to see if something could be done to fix it. You may also post in The Silent Gateway board while you are waiting to be sired, if you choose to post in either of these boards you musthave a link to your siring thread in your signature text and display, IGN = (none), and Powers= none and blood rank=none in your mini profile. While you are Human you mat not post in the newspaper as that is a ‘vampire’ only board.

12)Stranger Things Can Happen Rules In this board all alliances with other character are put aside, mortal enemies could be lovers and best friends could be mortal enemies; basically the possibilities are endless. This board was made to get players together for fun so they can role-play together even if normally they couldn’t or wouldn’t. Posts made in this board must be a minimum of 1,000 characters long; anything found under that minimum will be warned. Anything done on this board has nothing to do with your character’s main storyline, anything crossing over to that storyline can be considered crossing.
13)The Silent Gateway Board The Silent Gateway board is for human and vampire interaction. This is a board that allows un-sired characters to RP if a siring thread is not going fast enough, or you wish to develop your character further while they’re still a human. This board may also be used to role-play your character’s human past, if you do not want to create a character journal, so long as the proper indications are included.
If a human does not have the proper IGN, display powers, blood rank and a link to their siring thread in their signature they may not post in this board. This board is for people who would like to role-play while they wait for their Siring Thread to be completed, not for people looking to avoid role-playing a vampire, on a vampire role-play site.
Vampires, characters that have already been sired, will be required to have their IGN and powers/blood rank listed in their mini profile, as per every other IC board on this site.
Human character may post here, but it is important to remember that any human the post here without an In Game Name doesn’t stand a change against a vampire ; the vampire will always win, anything else may or may not be power play, that is at the staff’s discretion.
This board can have threads set in any of the locations the other boards represent; it is a good idea to make mention of where the thread happens to be set. Players of vampire could also, if they wanted to, explore the human pasts of their characters in this board.
This board is not a siring board. It merely allows vampires to mingle with, and get to know, humans. If a thread seems to lead to a siring it is required that the human, as always, start a new siring thread in the BiD board, and the original thread be closed.
Posts made in this board must be a minimum of 500 characters long; anything found under that minimum will be warned.
If you have any further questions about the rules please contact one of the staff for further details.
