Biting

For most of the biting honor codes you will not be looked down upon or attacked if you break them. It is generally understood that biting/robing is NOT seen as an attack but there are some who are uneducated and attack those who bite/rob them.[/center]
Biting Those You Know: While biting is not considered a form of attack, it is considered rude by many others to bite someone you know (friend, family, acquaintances) unless coins are given (
see love bites). If you do bite someone you know leaving them a note to wake up to is always nice. A comment on their fatness (if the vamp has a high/er amount of blood) or thinness (if the vamp has a low/er amount of blood) is always fun.
Example: The vampire gittelbug drains 2 pints of blood from shinimegami. gittelbug says "you are looking a bit hefty there shini"
Love Bites: If you do decide to bite someone you know you can give them a "love bite" by giving them coins (50-100) after you have bitten them.
Example: The vampire gittelbug drains 2 pints of blood from shinimegami. gittelbug says "you are looking a bit hefty there shini". gittelbug gives shinimegami 50 coins.
Private Property

Just about anywhere you go in the city you will see buildings with names on them. These properties are owned privately by: clans, bloodlines, individuals, and some are even places of mourning. Please read the plaques (descriptions) before spending a good deal of time there unless, you have been invited or the establishment is for the public. Please be respectful and on your best behavior when in these areas. Private Homes: There are many private homes through out the city they belong to individual vamps, a couple or a blood line. (see the property list, link to come) Do not rob or bite while in these homes although, this can be seen as fair game it is disrespectful to the owner, so do not be surprised if you get chewed out or even attacked for it. Also do not scroll (read a scroll of turning) towards that home as it can be seen as an attack and is considered rude. Likewise, do not attack others while they are in their home.
If you must stay in a private home due to no AP it is customary to greet the owner and thank them for allowing you to rest there.Example:Majica's playground located at Willow and 50th. Please do not lurk in the buildings uninvited.
Clan Buildings: These privately owned buildings are for some of the many clans around RavenBlack city. They hold information about said clan such as rules, values, names of the leaders and even, perhaps, how to join. Please do not linger in these building, unless you belong to the clan, and do not show disrespect unless you want them to come after you.
Example: The Sun Clan's Ivory Tower located at Zelkova and 76th. Please do not lurk in the buildings uninvited.
Public Buildings: These buildings are for everyone in the city to enjoy. They include, but are not limited to: parks, cafes, and even areas to learn more about the city. Although, these are public buildings please remain respectful towards their occupants.
Example: The COVE is located at Knotweed and 51st and Cafe Damari is located at Zelkova and 68th stop by and check them out.
Places of Mourning: There are various areas scattered over the city in honor of the players who have died (their humans died in real life). You
SHOULD[/color]: check them out and pay your respects. You should
NOT: rob, bite, or attack anyone in these areas. This is seen as a sign of disrespect. People have been attacked for disrespecting these places. So please act appropriately in these areas.
Examples: The Grave Yard Located at Larch and 50th built for the player behind the vampire Pazuzu. Marlena's Wishing Well at Fear and 56th built for the player who died. Please respect those who have passed by not robbing, attacking, or biting in these squares.
Mourning Zones: These are neutral areas where many vampires are gathered to offer respect and prayers for those who have died. Others gather around the vampire, in whatever location they are in, who's human has died. You will be able to tell these areas by the large number of vampires gathered. Make sure to check the papers if you are not certain. Do
NOT rob, bite or attack anyone in mourning. You can wait until they leave.
What to look for: Many blue squares in one location with a lot of vampires gathered. If you do rob or attack someone there apologize and be responsible for your actions.
War

Information regarding acts of war: what to do if hit, death and torpor. This is not a guide on fighting wars. If you wish to learn about fighting I suggest you join a clan (Clans).Torpor: After a vampire is zeroed it is expected that they take torpor. This means they do not speak in public places (post in public forums, papers or speak IC on IM) for two weeks and only bite humans until they have reached 250 blood pints. After 250 the vampire may bite and rob others again. Many see this as death or something close to it.
Please note: Not all vampires observe torpor the same way, if at all. This is the most common form of torpor. If you wish to know how an individual vampire is resting ask them or check the papers.
Acceptable use of weapons: Using weapons on another vampire outside of war is not a good idea unless you are looking to start something. But there are a few weapons that are acceptable to use without indicating an attack. Scrolls of turning (SoT) are used to clear banks, pubs, shops, etc even by vampires who have the power of surprise. You can freely use these to clear a bank, pub or even shop. Please do not scroll personal property. Scrolls of displacements (SoD) are also used, though less commonly, to clear those in banks and shops when a particular vampire is putting away a lot of coins or doing some shopping.
Please note: If you use any of these away from banks, pubs and shops it is considered an attack.
What to do if attacked: DO NOT MOVE. Check your surroundings if you were scrolled or displaced make sure you weren't near or in a bank or shop. Take a screen shot (Press the "print screen" option on your key board. Open "paint" and paste. And save as a .jpg You can then upload this to imageshack). Send the person who attacked you a
nice telepathic message asking a reason and wait. (If you don't get a response you can always post your image in game ooc).
Misc. City Etiquette

There are many etiquette rules that do not fall into a specific category. Please keep in mind that the city is intended to be PG13 so please respect RavenBlack's wishes and keep it clean. For most of these rules you will not get attacked for breaking. Flowers: You can buy flowers from various shops around the city (Link list of shops) and they are one of the few things you can give another vampire. They are a nice gesture of friendship, love and even make nice random gifts to give. But be wary of the condition of your flowers because at some point they will wilt and die. So check the condition before you give, because giving a wilted or dead flower to someone can be seen as death and war.
Sleeping: Where you decide to sleep can effect what you see when you wake. Sleeping in public buildings such as banks, pubs and transits serves as an annoyance for many vampires so do not be surprised to find when you wake up you have been scrolled from your spot. This is especially true for banks. In short: do your business and leave so you don't crowd the areas.
